SELMA, Ala. - The Spring Hill College women's basketball team took a 66-55 road decision over the Concordia College-Selma Lady Hornets on Wednesday evening to complete a 2-game season series sweep of the non-conference foe.
Kimarie Bock, the SHC senior center from Dunedin, Fla., had 22 points and eight rebounds as the inside presence of the Badgers proved to be a deciding factor with SHC taking 50 rebounds including 16 on offense. Concordia took in 34 with just nine coming on offense.
Senior forward Lynleigh Hughes of Hammond, La., and freshman guard Bria Bohanan from Ponchatoula, La., each had 11 points while junior forward Erica Wright from pace, Fla., had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Concordia was led by Tiffany Hill with 18 points and Sekal Ousley with 12 rebounds.
Overall, the Spring Hill shot 40% (24-60) from the field including 14.3% (2-14) from beyond the 3-point line. The Badgers had 28 turnovers despite just eight steals by the Lady Hornets. Concordia suffered 25 fumbles as SHC took away 14 steals.
Concordia shot 32.7% (18-55) from the field as a team and 20% (1-5) from 3-point land.
Spring Hill (7-9) will next host a rematch with the Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) Lady Knights (11-0) on Monday at 3 p.m. at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center. SUNO downed SHC 55-50 earlier this season in New Orleans.
