The Spring Hill College men's tennis team (0-1) fell to Huntingdon College in its open match of the 2008 campaign 7-2 on Saturday afternoon. "It was an unfortunate beginning to the season," remarked SHC head coach Hans Laub. "Our doubles teams were disappointing and we played sluggishly in our singles matches."
Huntingdon swept the three doubles matches as Spring Hill seniors Evan Davis and Brendan Gallagher fell to Glen Rudolph and B.J. Foroughian 8-5 in the No. 1 match. Dane Hinton and Will Seevers bowed to Huntingdon's Zach Molin and Kent Hagan, 8-3, while Nick Rayburn and Johnny Ngamvilay were upended by Graham Neeley and D. Allen, 8-3.
In singles action, Seevers defeated Molin 6-4, 7-5 and Nick Rayburn defeated Brady Lamborne in a tiebreaker 6-0, 4-6, 1-0.
