KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On Tuesday, Spring Hill College women's tennis team received 32 votes in the NAIA's first Top 25 rating of the 2011 season to place 30th in the national poll.
In 2010, the Badgers appeared in five consecutive NAIA ratings to finish the season rated No. 24.
The NAIA poll
is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the NAIA conferences, independents and unaffiliated groups.
Other Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) members to appear on the list were Auburn University Montgomery at No. 2, Brenau University at No. 7, Shorter University at No. 11, Lee University at No. 17, William Carey University at No. 21 and the University of Mobile received votes to finish in 26th position.
The SHC women open the 2011 season under new Head Coach Michael Kreider on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center versus LSU-Shreveport.
