On Wednesday, the Spring Hill College men's tennis team opened its 2011 conference season with a conference loss to the University of Mobile by the score of 7-2 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.
 
Spring Hill opened the match by taking a 2-1 lead after doubles action thanks to closely contested wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots.
 
In singles play, however, the Rams (2-0, 1-0 SSAC West) rallied to take all six matches, including 3-set victories at the No. 1, 5 and 6 slots. Clint Key's hard-fought 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles over Jake Lyons clinched the match for the Rams.

Spring Hill (0-3, 0-1 SSAC West) will next travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face conference opponent William Carey University (2-3, 1-0 SSAC West) at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
