Auburn University Montgomery opened a 3-game conference set with Spring Hill College on Friday night at historic Stan Galle Field by taking a 4-2 decision over the Badgers in 14 innings.
The Senators' right fielder Logan Remson slipped a leadoff homer past the right field foul poll in the 14th and centerfielder Brian Wheeler recorded an RBI double over third base to pull out the 4-2 win over the Badgers.
AUM's Nathan Brown (2-1) was the winner in relief as the Senators sent five pitchers to the mound in the contest. Lawrence Trunk (0-1) took the loss for SHC.
Left fielder Kendell Karvin had two hits and scored both Badger runs while third baseman Brian Traina also had two hits for Spring Hill.
Left fielder Rusty Todd was 4-for-6 and Remson was 3-for-5 in the AUM effort.
The Badgers (11-16, 1-3 SSAC West) and AUM (20-12, 3-1 SSAC West) will wrap up the series on Saturday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Stan Galle Field.
