Spring Hill College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Karen McConico has announced the signing of forward Destiny Rentas of Jacksonville, Fla., to the Badger roster for the 2011-12 season.

Rentas played her freshman and sophomore seasons (2009-11) at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Ala., and appeared in 44 games with 26 starts for the Cougars. She scored 306 total points (6.7 ppg) while shooting 32.7% (114-349) and pulled down 241 rebounds (5.5 rpg) with 67 assists, 28 blocked shots and 67 steals in her jucu career.

During her two seasons at LSCC, Rentas recorded six double-double efforts and scored her career high of 20 points versus Columbia State on November 30, 2009 and Itawamba Community College on December 6, 2010.

Rentas prepped at Andrew Jackson Senior High School in Jacksonville, Fla., under Coach Monica Gibson where she was a 2-time All-Conference selection (2007-08, 2008-09) and won four Gateway Conference Championships and three District Championships. In 2007, she was named the MVP of the AAU Holiday Classic.

The 5-foot-9 post player is majoring in Marine Biology.
