The Spring Hill College men's remained undefeated on the year with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Delta State University on Friday evening at Library Field.
The Statesmen (0-3) took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute off a goal by Taylor Whyte, but Spring Hill rebounded in the 30th minute when sophomore Patrick Culotta of New Orleans, La., laced a free kick from the top of the box just past the edge of the Statesmen's wall and inside the right goalpost to knot the match at 1-1 going into intermission.
In the second half, freshman Salvador Sanchis from Miami, Fla., headed in the game winner off a corner kick assist by freshman Nick Smith of Huntsville, Ala., at the 59 minute mark.
Senior goalkeeper Cory Bronenkamp of St. Louis, Mo., collected the win along with two saves against 10 DSU shots. For the Statesmen, Flavio Romero took the loss with five saves against 15 Spring Hill shots.
The Badgers benefited from three corner kick chances while fighting back 11 corners by Delta State.
Spring Hill (4-0) travels to Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday to face NCAA Division 2 opponent the University of West Florida Argonauts (1-1) on Wednesday starting at 7:30 p.m.
