The Spring Hill College volleyball team picked up its 16th consecutive win since opening the season on Tuesday night with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-17) conference victory over Loyola University (La.) at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

The 24th-ranked Badgers wasted little time as they bolted to an early 11-5 advantage in the first set and then expanded the lead to as much as 22-9 before closing with a 25-11 score.

Loyola kept the 2nd set close in the early stages with the Badgers holding a slim 7-6 lead. An 11-2 run to 18-8 by SHC, however, ended the Wolfpack (4-5, 1-3 SSAC West) threat.

In the third and final set, the Badgers broke open an 8-6 score with a 10-1 run to 17-7 and cruised to the 25-17 final.

Senior right side hitter Yiting Cao of Shanghai, China, continued her domination of the NAIA courts with a 16-kill, 8-dig performance while freshman middle hitter Megan Haber of Foley, Ala., collected four solo blocks and four block assists on the night.

Sophomore setter Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., passed out 28 assists in the match. Senior Abbey Roam of Lebanon, Mo., and sophomore libero Meredith Donald of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School enjoyed fine defensive nights with Roam tallying 14 digs and 14 receptions and Donald taking in 15 digs and 10 receptions.

For Loyola, Kailey Tuthill had seven kills while setter Samantha Worsham had 21 assists and 14 digs.

As a team, SHC outscored Loyola 51-33 and took away a 35-29 advantage in kills.  The Badgers limited Loyola to a .008 attack percentage and maintained a .262 percentage for themselves.

The Badgers (16-0, 4-0 SSAC West) will host the University of Mobile (6-6, 1-2 SSAC West) on Thursday at 7 p.m.
