The Spring Hill College women's soccer team lost a conference decision to the 3rd ranked Lee University Lady Flames on Friday afternoon in an 8-0 outcome at Library Field.
Lee (4-2, 1-0 SSAC) scored in the 1st minute of play when Ode Fulutudilu ripped a shot across the face of the goal from right to left that clipped the left post and skipped into the net just 45 seconds into play.
Two goals by Jamie Achten in the 9th and 25th minutes were sandwiched around a Debbie Rogers' goal in the 18th minute. The Flames would lead 5-0 at halftime following a goal by Laura Thacker in the 44th minute that was assisted by Rogers off a free kick.
Lee closed out the match with goals by Ashley Aragona in the 55th minute, Lauren Welch in the 56th minute and Leah Fortune in the 86th minute.
Spring Hill was outshot 23 to 0 and allowed eight corner opportunities while taking none for themselves.
Spring Hill (3-5, 0-2) will host Shorter University (0-6, 0-1) in a conference match at Library Field on Saturday at 2 p.m.
