JACKSON, Miss. –The 24th ranked Spring Hill College volleyball team tied the program's consecutive wins mark with its 18th victory since the start of the 2011 season by defeating conference foe Belhaven University at Rugg Arena on Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 25-21).
Senior right side hitter Yiting Cao of Shanghai, China, pounded out 23 kills with a .676 attack percentage for the Badgers while sophomore setter Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., handed out 40 assists.
Defensively, senior Abbey Roam of Lebanon, Mo. took in 12 digs and 17 receptions as freshman Megan Haber of Foley, Ala., batted back two solo blocks with two block assists.
For Belhaven (12-4, 3-2 SSAC West), Natalie Davis had 10 kills and Erin Bradley had 28 assists.
Spring Hill outscored Belhaven 57-42.
The Badgers (18-0, 6-0 SSAC West) will attempt to set a new school mark for consecutive wins when they travel to Montgomery, Ala., on Tuesday to face divisional foe Faulkner University (12-6, 1-3 SSAC West) at 7 p.m.
