The Spring Hill College women's golf team shot a total team score of 687 (347, 340, +111) to take the championship of  the 2011 Badger Fall Shootout at the Spring Hill College Golf Course on Tuesday.

The University of Mobile finished in 2nd place at 694 (355, 339, +118) and William Carey University was 3rd at 770 (387, 383, +194).

Individually for the Badgers, sophomore Avery Kyle from Plano, Texas, took two strokes off her score on the second day to finish in 1st place out of 14 golfers with a +18 score of 162 over the par-72, 5960-yard course.

Sophomore Katie Callahan of Prairie Village, Kan., shaved three strokes off her totals in the second round to close in a tie for 3rd place at 171 (87, 84, +27) and senior Ann Marie Coan of St. Louis, Mo., moved into a 6th place at 177 (91, 86, +33) with sophomore Audrey Dombrowski of St. Louis (87, 90).

Freshman Rachel Failla of New Orleans, La., finished in 11th position with a 186 (95, 91, +42) score.

The Badger women will next travel to Birmingham, Ala., to play in the Southern Shootout hosted by Birmingham-Southern College at Highland Park Golf Club on October 9-10.
