CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team recorded its 3rd shutout of the season with a 1-0 conference victory at Truett-McConnell College on Friday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half in which the Badgers outshot the Bears 10-2, Spring Hill drew first blood with a goal by freshman forward Tyler Hartlage from Tampa, Fla., from 18 yards out in the 80th minute of play. For Hartlage, it was his 5th goal of the year.
SHC senior goalkeeper Cory Bronenkamp of St. Louis, Mo., faced 10 shots by the Bears (1-7, 0-3 SSAC) and made five saves with none being more important than his last stop that came off the foot of Josh Moffet as time expired in the match.
The Badgers took 16 total shots against TMC keeper Craig Stephenson who made seven saves in the loss.
Spring Hill (6-3, 2-2) will next visit Central, S.C., for a conference match with Southern Wesleyan University (4-2, 1-1) on Saturday at 6 p.m.
