CLINTON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College men's cross country team finished in 6th place out of 11 teams at the Watson Ford Invitational hosted by Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss., on Friday afternoon.
The Badgers collected a total of 161 points and ran a total team time of 2:34:27.63 in an average time of 30:53.53 over the 8-kilometer course.
Individually, senior Christopher "Will" Kirkikis finished in 18th place out of 81 runners in a time of 28:29.56.
The next three Badger finishers were all freshmen as John Russell of Cullman, Ala., ran in 31st position in a time of 30:30.95, Michael Anderson of Marietta, Ga., came in at 30:37.64 for 32nd place, and Ben Fleming of Metairie, La., ran 43rd in 31:53.33. Junior Thomas Kinsey Fairhope, Ala., finished the scoring for SHC with a 49th place finish and a time of 32:56.15.
The 6th and 7th finishers for the Badgers were sophomore Fritz Boudreaux of Pensacola, Fla., in a time of 33:38.07 and a 53rd place finish and senior Christian Boyer from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School who was 59th at 34:17.28.
The Badgers next run at the Southeastern Classic in Rome, Ga., on Saturday, October 22 at 10 a.m.
