MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's soccer team saw its 4-match winning streak snapped by the Auburn University Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks on Tuesday afternoon with a 4-1 conference loss at the AUM Soccer Complex.
AUM broke onto the scoreboard first in the 25th minute of play when Krista Hagen found Margret Albertsdottir who scored past Spring Hill's freshman goalkeeper Abby Massengale of New Orleans, La.
Hagen later picked up her second assist of the day when she connected with Asta Fridriksdottir for a goal in the 36th minute.
The Warhawks (7-6, 6-2 SSAC) made it 3-0 at the intermission when Albertsdottir teamed up with Karina Suetsugu for a score with less than seven minutes remaining before halftime.
In the 65th minute, Albertsdottir collected her second assist and fourth point of the match when she lifted a scoring pass to Inga Dis Juliusdottir who scored past SHC keeper sophomore Cassandra Amore of Pace, Fla.
Freshman forward Megan Fox scored her first collegiate goal in the 85th minute to prevent the shutout for Spring Hill.
Massengale and Amore made three saves against 12 AUM shots while Holly Clarke and Margaret Ingthorsdottir tallied four saves versus six shots by the Badgers.
The Badgers lifted six corner attempts while AUM took five corner kick opportunities.
Spring Hill (7-7, 4-4) will next travel to Jackson, Miss. on Saturday to face the Belhaven University Lady Blazers (5-7-1, 3-4) in a conference match at 5 p.m.
