JACKSON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College women's soccer team took a 2-0 road loss at conference opponent Belhaven University on Saturday evening.

The Blazers (6-8-1, 4-5 SSAC) and the Badgers battled to a scoreless tie at halftime as Belhaven managed to get off four shots and Spring Hill made three attempts in a defense-dominated period.

Belhaven gained the early offensive momentum in the second period and notched a tally on the scoreboard when Christin Kaim scored her seventh goal of the season in the 60th minute of play.

Kaim later tacked on an insurance goal for the Blazers in the 82nd minute off an assist from Rebecca Ontero.

SHC freshman goalkeeper Abby Massengale (6-7) of New Orleans, La., faced 17 shots and made seven saves in the loss.

For the Blazers, Nicole Walsh made two saves in-goal against 10 SHC shots.

Belhaven attempted four corner kicks and SHC had 11 corner opportunities.

Spring Hill (7-8, 4-5) will return home on Tuesday to face the Faulkner University Eagles (4-7-1, 5-3) in a conference match at 1 p.m. on Library Field.
