JACKSON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to conference foe and 10th ranked Belhaven University on Saturday night.
The Blazers (12-2, 7-2 SSAC) scored the match's lone goal in the 39th minute with a score by Guilherme Sousa off an assist by Aaron McLoughlin and then carried the 1-0 advantage into the locker rooms at the intermission.
For SHC in goal, senior Cory Bronenkamp (7-4) of St. Louis, Mo., made 10 saves versus 29 Blazer shots
Belhaven's Greg Hartley stopped five shots against 13 Badger attempts including his save of Badger freshman midfielder Nick Smith's shot with 10 seconds remaining in the match.
The Badgers attempted four corner kicks and Belhaven tried eight corners in the contest.
Spring Hill (10-5, 5-4) will next host Faulkner University (3-9-1, 1-7) on Tuesday at Library Field in a conference match beginning at 3:30 p.m.
