On the final day of the University of Mobile Fall Classic at Heron Lake Country Club, the Spring Hill College women's golf team added six strokes to their previous day's totals and slipped to 2nd place out of three teams with a +114 score of 690 (342, 348) following a Day 1 finish that found them leading the field by two strokes.
Individually for the Badgers, sophomore Avery Kyle from Plano, Texas, scored 165 (82, 83, +21) to tie for 3rd place over the par-72, 5913-yard course.
Sophomore Katie Callahan of Prairie Village, Kan., also landed in 3rd out of 21 golfers on Day 2 after adding seven strokes to her score to close the event with a score of 165 (79, 86, +21).
Sophomore Audrey Dombrowski of St. Louis, Mo., was 8th at 178 (93, 85, +34) and freshman Rachel Failla of New Orleans, La., shot a +38 score of 182 (88, 94) for 14th position while freshman Stephanie Lee of Mobile's Baker High School was 19th in a score of 204 (101, 103, +60). Sophomore Shelley Husband of pass Christian, Miss., rounded out the field in 21st place with a score of 226 (115, 111, +82).
Host team the University of Mobile won the team championship with a score of 671 (344, 327, +95) and Mobile's Ann Nahl was the individual winner with a +15 score of 159 (79, 80).
The Badger women wrapped up their fall semester schedule at the event and will next play in the spring semester beginning in February.
