Four Badgers won six SSAC awards on Saturday
Women's Cross Country - Mon, Nov. 7, 2011

NORCROSS, Ga. – The 2011 Spring Hill College women's cross country team won six awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as announced on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Kate Imwalle was named to the 2011 SSAC All-Conference team and also appeared on the 2011 All-Academic team roster. This marks the fourth consecutive season that Imwalle has been named all-conference.  The Integrated Communications major from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School finished 4th at the 2011 SSAC Championships in Clinton, Miss. on Saturday.

Junior Payton Tanner of Fairhope, Ala., was named to the 2011 Musco Lighting/SSAC Champions of Character Team. Also majoring in Integrated Communications, Tanner finished in 18th place at the SSAC Championships and also qualified for the SSAC All Academic team.

Along with Imwalle and Tanner, two additional Badgers also named to the 2011 SSAC All Academic team as seniors Ashley Derenbacker of Bay St. Louis, Miss. and Alex Davis of St. Louis, Mo. each won a space on the prestigious list.
