Spring Hill College seniors Yiting Cao and Abbey Roam were selected as members of the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District® Team in Women's Volleyball for District 2 (College Division) as announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.

Cao, a Graphic Design major from Shanghai, China, was the 2010 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) West Division's Player of the Year and an NAIA 3rd team All-America at Right Side Hitter as a junior. She currently leads the NAIA in kills per set with 5.38 kills per set and stands fourth in the nation with a .408 attack percentage.

Roam, also majoring in Graphic Design from Lebanon, Mo., appeared on the 2010 SSAC All West Division roster as an Outside Hitter and qualified for the 2010 SSAC All-Academic team. Currently, she has 188 kills for a 1.7 kps average and 353 digs for a 3.2 dps average this season.

Voted upon by the CoSIDA membership, the Capital One Academic All-District Award® recognizes athletes holding a career GPA of 3.3 or higher while at the same time making significant on-field contributions to their team.

As district winners, Cao and Roam are now automatically nominated for the Capital One Academic All-America® team to be chosen by the CoSIDA membership.
