GULFPORT, Miss. – At the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) annual Soccer Awards Banquet on Wednesday night, Spring Hill College men's soccer players earned six individual awards.
 

Forward Tyler Hartlage of Tampa, Fla., was named to the 2011 SSAC All-Freshman Team after a debut season in which he scored eight goals and eight assists for a Spring Hill team-high of 24 total points in 19 appearances with 18 starts.

Freshman midfielder Nick Smith of Huntsville, Ala., was the Badgers' representative on the 2011 Musco Lighting/SSAC Champions of Character Team. Smith started all 19 matches for the Badgers this season scoring one goal off 14 shots and an assist.

The conference also named four Badgers to the 2011 SSAC All-Academic Team. Fifth-year senior goalkeeper Cory Bronenkamp of St. Louis, Mo., sophomore midfielder Andres Garcia of Navarre, Fla., senior defenseman Phoenix Iverson of Decatur, Ala., and sophomore midfielder Nick Link of Elizabethtown, Ky., all earned recognition for their excellence in the classroom as well as on the soccer field.
