MOBILE, Ala. – The awards continued to roll in for the Spring Hill College volleyball team on Sunday afternoon when COBRA Magazine named middle hitter Sha Sha Buchanan as an honorable mention All Southeast Region player for the 2011 season.
Buchanan, a 5-foot-10 sophomore and graduate of Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, recorded 265 kills this season for a 2.17 kills per set average and a .304 attack percentage.
She has also collected 121 total blocks to go along with 82 digs and 23 service aces so far this year.
COBRA Magazine's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African as well as Samoan and Tongan descent in hopes of encouraging young girls of those ethnic groups across the country to pursue the sport.
The No. 16 Badgers (39-1) begin play in the NAIA National Championship Tournament's pool play round on Tuesday versus 9th-ranked Biola University at 3:15 p.m. at The Forum in Sioux City, Iowa.
