NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team snapped a two-game losing skid with a 51-49 win over the Dillard University Lady Bleu Devils in a non-conference match up on Tuesday night.
Spring Hill trailed 25-21 at the intermission, but the Badgers dominated the backboards by taking down 60 rebounds and allowing Dillard just 44 rebounds in the come-from-behind victory.
Junior center April Bradford led the SHC charge with a double-double effort that included 17 rebounds and 11 points. Kristin Rogers also recorded a double-double outing with 15 rebounds and 10 points.
Sophomore guard Bria Bohanon also put 11 points through the nets for the Badgers.
Spring Hill shot a respectable 31.9% (22-69) from the field and 23.5% (4-17) from beyond the arc, but continued to be plagued by turnovers as Dillard took away 26 Badger fumbles off 14 steals. The Bleu Devils gave the ball up 18 times against 10 SHC steals.
Dillard (1-3) was led by Jazzmin Smith with 12 points as the Lady Bleu Devils managed to shoot 24.6% (17-69) from the field and 20% (4-20) in 3-pointers.
SHC (3-3, 1-1 SSAC) will return home to the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Friday at 5:30 p.m. to face Brenau University (4-5, 0-2) in a Southern States Athletic Conference contest.
