KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Tuesday evening, the Spring Hill College volleyball team received 275 votes in the Final 2011 NAIA Volleyball Top 25 Rating to finish the year rated as the No. 17 team in the nation.
The Badgers (40-3, 14-0 SSAC West) advanced to the NAIA National Championship Tournament's Round-Robin Pool Play round for only the second time in its history in 2011 and also recorded their first two wins ever at the National Tournament.
The NAIA poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the NAIA conferences, independents and unaffiliated groups.
Lee University (34-3, 14-1 SSAC East) is the only other Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) member to appear on the list and finished at No. 3 while Shorter University also checked in the "receiving votes" category with 11 votes for 34th position on the list.
