NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team took a non-conference victory with a 64-51 outcome at the Southern University-New Orleans (SUNO) Lady Knights in The Castle on Friday evening.

The Badgers led 33-23 at the intermission and maintained a double-digit advantage through most of the second period.

Junior center April Bradford of Pensacola, Fla., notched her seventh double-double effort in 11 games with 15 points and 10 rebounds while freshman point guard Bethany Collins from Apex, N.C., tallied 11 points in the win.

SUNO (2-5) was paced by Kelly Stewart with 17 points and Rose Boatner with 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Badgers shot 36.1% (22-61) from the field and connected on 6-of-16 (37.5%) 3-point attempts, but SHC continued to be bothered by turnovers as they handed the ball back to SUNO 22 times off 10 steals by the Lady Knights.

Spring Hill (5-6) will next visit Florence, Ala., on New Year's Eve in a 1 p.m. tipoff of an exhibition game with the Lady Lions (5-3) of the University of North Alabama.
