The Spring Hill College women's basketball team came up on the wrong side of an 83-56 outcome versus the 18-ranked Belhaven University Lady Blazers on Thursday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Lady Blazers (23-6, 16-2 SSAC) jumped out to a comfortable 44-18 lead at the intermission en route to the 83-56 final score.
Junior center April Bradford of Pensacola, Fla., scored a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds for SHC while junior forward Jackie Higgenbotham of Birmingham, Ala., scored 12 points to lead the Badger offense.
Spring Hill shot 36.2% (17-47) from the field and 30.8% (4-13) from 3-point distance while committing 24 turnovers.
Belhaven was paced by the NAIA's leading scorer Regena Jackson with 16 points and Jessica Barlow added 15 points.
The Blazers shot 55.6% (35-63) from the field and 33.3% (2-6) from 3-point land while turning the ball over just 12 times and out rebounding the Badgers 34-33.
Spring Hill (9-18, 4-13 SSAC) will close out the 2011-12 season at William Carey University (12-13, 8-9 SSAC) on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Hattiesburg.
