The Spring Hill College baseball team lost an 11-2 decision Faulkner University at historic Stan Galle Field on Sunday afternoon, giving the 8th-ranked Eagles a sweep of the 3-game conference series.

Faulkner (21-7, 10-2 SSAC) scored at least one run in each of the first six innings and racked up 15 total hits on the day.

Eagle starter Matt Creel (4-0) went five innings and four Faulkner relievers each saw a full inning of work over the final half of the game. Creel allowed just four of the Badgers' nine total hits and struck out five with one walk.

Nick Schmiemeier (1-4) took the loss for Spring Hill in three innings and gave up six earned runs off four hits, three walks, three hit batters and no strikeouts.

Faulkner shortstop Daniel Cayton was 3-for-4 including a 2-run homer to right in the 3rd inning while four other Eagles enjoyed 2-hit days.

For the Badgers, centerfielder Andy Robbins had two hits with an RBI and left fielder Alex Bumb came off the bench in the 5th inning to add two more hits to the Spring Hill totals.

Spring Hill (9-13, 3-9 SSAC) will next host Oklahoma Wesleyan University (13-7) in a non-conference game on Monday beginning at 6 p.m. on Stan Galle Field.
