The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named Fred Rossi and Linsey Dickerson as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their achievements on the diamond during the week of April 9-15, 2012.

Rossi, a senior baseball catcher from Shreveport, La., drove in the winning run with a double to left-centerfield as the Badgers rallied to score five runs in the top of the 9th inning in an 8-7 win at Brewton-Parker College on Saturday. For the season, Rossi is hitting .220 with two homeruns, 17 RBI and a team-leading 10 doubles.

Dickerson, a junior softball pitcher from Hurley, Miss., went 3-0 as a starter this week with wins over Mobile, Faulkner and Belhaven. Thus far in 2012, she has struck out 106 batters in 183 innings, ranking as the fourth most innings pitched in the NAIA. Dickerson holds a 2.30 ERA with five shutouts in 23 complete-games pitched.

In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
