MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College softball team lost both ends of conference doubleheader at Auburn University Montgomery (AUM) on Sunday afternoon by the scores of 5-0 and 7-3.

The 18th-ranked Warhawks 34-16, 16-8 took the first game behind the strength of a one-hit performance by AUM starter Brandi Richards (10-9) who walked five and struck out 11 Badgers.

Linsey Dickerson (11-17) took the loss for Spring Hill with seven hits, three walks and four strikeouts.

Kathryn Ingles (7-11) accepted a 7-3 complete-game loss for the Badgers in the nightcap, giving up eight hits, two walks and two strikeouts.

Courtney Baker was the winner for AUM in the second game with six hits, no walks and two strikeouts while Cassie Daniels collected the save.

Shortstop Shea Blanchard had two hits with a double and all three Badger RBI on the day while right fielder Katelyn Hinson also had a pair of hits for SHC.

AUM shortstop Jyssica Peppers had four hits including two homeruns and four RBI.

Spring Hill ended the 2012 campaign with an overall record of 18-28 and an 8-16 in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).
