MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 2011-12 Spring Hill College women's tennis team brought back four individual postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships as chosen by the head coaches of the 10 member institutions.

Junior Shelby Fritscher (left) of Covington, La., was named to the 2012 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team from the Badger squad for the second consecutive season. This award recognizes an individual from each participating school who encompasses the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership that stand at the heart of the NAIA Champions of Character program.

Three Badgers also qualified for the 2012 SSAC All Academic team. Fritscher, a Secondary Education and Social Sciences major was joined for the second straight year by her teammate and fellow junior Caroline Hitt (right) of Baton Rouge, La., who majors in Management Accounting. Also on the list of the conference's top classroom performers was sophomore Monica Castello, (left) a Nursing major from UMS-Wright in Mobile.
