COLUMBUS, Ga. – The 2012 Spring Hill College softball team won four postseason individual awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as chosen by the head coaches of the 13 member teams.

Freshman catcher Jade Bourgeois from Geismar, La., was named to both the conference's All-West Division and All-Freshman teams after a season in which she led the Badgers in virtually every offensive category including average (.316), doubles (15), RBI (32) and homeruns (6).

Shea Blanchard, a freshman shortstop from Breaux Bridge, La., was named as the SHC representative on the 2012 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team. This award recognizes an individual from each conference school who encompasses the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership that stand at the heart of the NAIA Champions of Character program.

Jenny Laird, the team's senior starter at 1st base, appeared on the SSAC All-Academic Team in recognition as one of the conference's top classroom performers.
