HOUSTON, Texas – The 12th-ranked Spring Hill College volleyball team closed out the St. Thomas Labor Day Tournament with a pair of 3-0 wins over Trinity International University and Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday.

At the morning match with Trinity, the Badgers won by a score of 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 and in the afternoon contest Spring Hill rolled to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 victory over Calumet.

Sophomore Megan Haber of Lillian, Ala., had 12 kills, freshman Sami Hantak took down 2.5 blocks and junior setter Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., 29 assists and 15 digs against Trinity.

Against Calumet, freshman Ginny Hicks of Salt Lake City, Utah, recorded eight kills while Haber and junior Sha Sha Buchanan of McGill-Toolen Catholic School in Mobile each tallied seven kills. Buchanan added 4.5 blocks and junior Meredith Donald of McGill-Toolen collected 13 digs.

Following the matches, Nash was named to the 2012 University of St. Thomas Labor Day All-Tournament Team at the setter position.

The Badgers (5-1) will face Tougaloo College (0-2) in non-conference home match at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
