PRATTVILLE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's golf team opened the 2012-13 season with a third place finish out of nine teams at the Alabama State University Fall Golf Classic at the RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill on Monday.
Over the two-round event, the Badgers shot combined team scores of 309 and 299 for a final card of 608 (+32) over the 7006-yard, par-72 course. ASU finished in first place with a +8 final score of 584 (295, 289).
As individual competitors, the Badgers were paced by junior Adam Spiller from Mobile's Cottage Hills Christian Academy with a 4th place score of 148 (74, 74, +4).
Junior Philip Dugan of Lake Forest, Ill., shot scores of 78 and 75 for 13th place out of 44 golfers with a tally of 153 (+9). Sophomore Robert Bo Cox of Gardendale, Ala., was 19th with a shot total of 157 (81, 76, +13) and junior Nathan Ceille of Hales Corners, Wis., finished in a tie for 21st place with scores of 76 and 82 (158, +14).
Senior Joseph Webster of Trussville, Ala., rounded out the Badger competitors in 25th place with a +15 score of 159 (85, 74).
The Badgers next tee it up on Sept. 24-25 at the Emmanuel College Invitational in Toccoa, Ga., at The Currahee Club.
