The Spring Hill College men's soccer team rallied behind four second half goals to take a 4-3 non-conference victory over Mississippi College at Library Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The Choctaws (1-2) grabbed a 2-0 lead at halftime off goals in the 36th and 44th minutes by Brian Vasquez, but the Badgers regrouped during the intermission as sophomore Tyler Hartlage of Tampa, Fla., got SHC on the board with an unassisted goal in the 50th minute.
Russell Harrison rebuilt a 2-goal bulge for MC in the 58th minute with an unassisted goal, but SHC answered just one minute later with a tally by sophomore Nick Smith of Huntsville, Ala.
In the 67th minute, freshman Arturo Garcia of Guayaquil, Ecuador, knotted the game at 3-3 off an assisting pass by sophomore Jose Mario Escalante of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Escalante also handed out the assist on the game-winning goal by freshman Andrew McInnis of Mandeville, La., in the 81st minute of play.
SHC outshot the Choctaws 21-19, but MC took seven corner kicks while the Badgers attempted five.
In goal, sophomore Gabriel Jaramillo (3-0) of Miami, Fla., picked up the win in relief of SHC starter freshman Jacob Files of Clinton, Miss. Jaramillo made four saves against 12 shots and Files collected one save against seven shots.
For MC, Robert Jackson roped in four saves against 21 Badger shots.
Spring Hill (4-0) will next host Concordia College-Selma in a non-conference match on Sunday beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Library Field.
