The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named soccer player Jacob Files and volleyball player Sha Sha Buchanan as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their accomplishments during the week of September 3-9, 2012.
Files (left), a freshman goalkeeper from Clinton, Miss., made nine saves against Concordia College-Selma and recorded his second career win. He has also tallied 14 saves in 297 minutes in goal so far this year.
Buchanan (right), a junior middle hitter from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, racked up 56 kills and an attack percentage of .364 in 16 sets of five matches this week. She also recorded 9.5 blocks, eight digs and three service aces for the week. On the year, Buchanan leads the Badgers with 122 kills and 38 total blocks.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
