The Spring Hill College men's cross country team ran in 11th place out of 13 teams at the Azalea City Classic hosted by the University of South Alabama on Saturday morning.
The Badgers collected a total of 273 points and ran a total team time of 2:26:21.53 in an average team time of 29:16.31 over the 8-kilometer course.
Freshman Jordan Travis of Poplarville, Miss., was the top SHC finisher at his first collegiate event with a 33rd place finish out of 105 runners and a time of 27:47.81.
Sophomore John Russell of Cullman, Ala., crossed the line in a time of 28:40.44 for 48th position while sophomore Conner Kirkikis of Kenner, La., was 60th in 29:28.99.
Freshman Brennan McLean of Baton Rouge, La., placed 71st in a time of 30:08.59 and sophomore Ben Redman of Spanish Fort, Ala., was 73rd in a time of 30:15.70.
The 6th and 7th runners for SHC were sophomore Ben Fleming of Metairie, La., who ran in 74th position at 30:16.28 and sophomore Michael Anderson of Marietta, Ga., who placed 79th with a time of 30:35.11.
Other Badger runners included junior Eric Mooney of Willoughby Hills, Ohio, who finished in 82nd position at 30:50.88, senior Ben Pace of Dallas, Texas, in 83rd place at 31:07.97, freshman Conner Bueche of Baton Rouge in 89th place at 31:47.84 and junior Fritz Boudreaux III in 90th position at 31:54.07 while freshman Phillip Travis of Poplarville rounded out the SHC runners in 92nd place at 31:57.58.
The Badgers next run at the Gulf Coast Stampede hosted by the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Fla., on Saturday at 8 a.m.
