CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team upset 5th-ranked Lee University by a score of 3-2 (25-23, 17-25, 18-25, 25-22, 17-15) in a Southern
States Athletic Conference (SSAC) road match on Saturday afternoon.

Spring Hill was led on offense by the efforts of sophomore Megan Haber of Lillian, Ala., with 18 kills and junior Sha Sha Buchanan from Mobile's McGill-Toole Catholic High School who knocked down 12 kills. Junior setter Taryn Nash of Independence, Mo., passed out 42 assists to her teammates.

Defensively, junior Meredith Donald of McGill-Toolen collected 28 digs while sophomore Sami Maurer of St. Louis, Mo., added 20 digs and 2.5 blocks including a solo block on the match's final play to secure the SHC victory. As a team, the Badgers slapped back 13 total blocks against the Lee offense.

The Lady Flames (9-6, 2-1 SSAC) were paced by Irene Ojukwu with 26 kills, Camil Martinez with 64 assists and Libby Peigen with 29 digs.  The Lady Flames recorded 8 total blocks on the Badgers.

The Badgers (11-3, 2-0 SSAC) will next travel to New Orleans, La., on Tuesday to face Loyola University (8-2, 0-2 SSAC) in a 7 p.m. SSAC contest.
