PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College women's cross country team ran in 9th position out of 12 teams at the Gulf Coast Stampede hosted by the University of West Florida on Saturday morning.
As a team, the Badgers ran a total team time of 1:54:09.60 over the 5-kilometer course for a total of 237 points and an average team time of 22:49.92.
Running her first collegiate event, freshman Makena Lidie of Lake Forest, Calif., was the first Badger to cross the line in a time of 20:33.40 for 26th place out of 105 total runners.
Junior Emily Dolan from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School finished in 51st place with a time of 21:32.10 and senior Payton Tanner of Fairhope, Ala., finished in 53rd position at 21:35.10.
Other Badgers to mark scoring times in the event were freshman Katie Dolan of McGill-Toolen at 89th position with a time of 24:47.10 and senior Kiearstan Carter of Murphy High School in Mobile who placed 92nd at 25:41.90.
The Badgers next run on October 6, 2012, at the Walt Disney World Classic in Kissimmee, Fla., with a start time of 8:30 a.m.
