PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College men's cross country team ran in 7th place out of 9 teams at the Gulf Coast Stampede hosted by the University of West Florida on Saturday morning.
The Badgers collected a total of 205 points and ran a total team time of 2:32:08.60 in an average team time of 30:25.72 over the 8-kilometer course.
Freshman Jordan Travis of Poplarville, Miss., was the top SHC finisher with a 30th place finish out of 93 runners and a time of 28:00.30 – the 23rd fastest men's 8-kilometer time in SHC history.
Sophomore John Russell of Cullman, Ala., crossed the line in a time of 29:48.90 for 59th position while freshman Brennan McLean of Baton Rouge, La., placed 71st in a time of 30:59.90.
Sophomore Conner Kirkikis of Kenner, La., was 76th in 31:35.00 as sophomore Ben Fleming of Metairie, La., who ran in 77th position at 31:44.50, closed out the Badger scoring.
Across the line 6th and 7th for SHC were freshman Patrick Lameka of Chicago, Ill., in 78th place with a 31:46.60 time and sophomore Michael Anderson of Marietta, Ga., who placed 81st overall with a time of 32:14.90.
Other Badger runners included senior Ben Pace of Dallas, Texas, in 82nd place at 32:16.40 and freshman Conner Bueche of Baton Rouge in 84th place at 33:02.10.
The Badgers next run on October 6, 2012, at the Walt Disney World Classic in Kissimmee, Fla., with a start time of 7:45 a.m.
