MARIETTA, Ga. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team closed out a 4-game road swing with a heartbreaking 1-0 conference loss at 7th-ranked Southern Polytechnic State University on Saturday afternoon.

Southern Poly (6-1, 2-0 SSAC) and the Badgers played to a scoreless tie at the halftime intermission and into the match's 84th minute before the Runnin' Hornets' Avery Shepard found the back of the net off an assist by Emeka Maduka.

Freshman goalkeeper Jacob Files of Clinton, Miss., made seven saves against a barrage of 29 Hornet shots while Dennis Kramer of SPSU made four saves versus 10 Spring Hill College shots.

Spring Hill (6-3, 1-1 SSAC) will next host conference opponent Truett-McConnell College (3-2, 0-1 SSAC) on Friday at 4 p.m. on Library Field.
