TOCCOA, Ga. – The Spring Hill College men's golf team placed 5th out of 12 teams at Emmanuel College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at The Currahee Club.
Over the two-round event, the Badgers shot combined team scores of 323 and 305 for a final card of 628 (+52) over the 7134-yard, par-72 course. Erskine College finished in 1st place with a +30 final score of 606 (303, 303).
As individual competitors, the Badgers were paced by junior Adam Spiller from Mobile's Cottage Hills Christian Academy with a 6th place score of 151 (79, 72, +7).
Sophomore Robert Bo Cox of Gardendale, Ala., was 15th with a shot total of 157 (77, 80, +13) and junior Nathan Ceille of Hales Corners, Wis., finished in a tie for 22nd place with scores of 85 and 75 (160, +16). Junior Philip Dugan of Lake Forest, Ill., shot scores of 86 and 78 for 33rd place out of 60 golfers with a tally of 164 (+20).
Senior Scott Shields of Atlanta, Ga., rounded out the Badger competitors in 40th place with a +22 score of 166 (82, 84).
The Badgers next tee it up on Oct. 7-9 at the Chick-fil-a Invitational hosted by Berry College in Rome, Ga., at the Coosa Country Club.
