BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's golf team tied for 10th place out of 22 teams at the Southern Shootout hosted by Birmingham-Southern College on Sunday and Monday at Highland Park Golf Club.

The Badgers shot a two-round total of 623 (313, 310, +63) over the 5801-yard, 70-par course to finish 36 strokes behind 1st place finisher Lee University (292, 295, +27).

Individually, Badger freshman Joanna Holt of Pensacola, Fla., finished tied for 6th place out of 124 participants with a +5 score of 145 (74, 71) while junior Avery Kyle of Plano, Texas, scored 156 for a final +12 (76, 80) and a tie for 40th position.

Junior Katie Callahan of Prairie Village, Kan., shot a +20 160 (83, 77) and freshman Alexandria Ryals of Mobile, Ala., carded a +22 (80, 82, 162) to finish in 60th and 65th places respectively.
 
Sophomore Rachel Failla of New Orleans, La., closed in 87th place with a +28 score of 168 (83, 85).

The Badgers next tee it up on Oct. 21-23, 2012, at the University of Mobile Fall Classic at Heron Lakes Country Club.
