The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named soccer player Arturo Garcia and cross country runner Emily Dolan as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their athletic achievements during the week of October 1-7, 2012.
Garcia, a freshman from Guayaquil, Ecuador, scored the Badgers' first goal at William Carey on Wednesday and then assisted on the first SHC goal against Belhaven on Saturday. For the season, he has three goals and three assists for nine total points.
Dolan, a junior from Mobile's McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, was the top NAIA runner at the ESPN-Walt Disney World Classic in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday with a time of 21:15.50 over 5,000 meters.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
