ROME, Ga. – The Spring Hill College men's golf team placed 3rd out of 21 teams at Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College on Monday and Tuesday at Coosa Country Club.
Over the two-round event, the Badgers shot combined team scores of 295 and 296 for a final card of 591 (+15) over the 7032-yard, par-72 course. First-year SSAC member College of Coastal Georgia finished in 1st place with a +2 final score of 578 (298, 280).
As individual competitors, the Badgers were paced by junior Adam Spiller from Mobile's Cottage Hills Christian Academy with a 7th place score of 145 (69, 76, +1).
Sophomore Jordan Portal of Miami, Fla., placed 12th with a total of 146 shots (72, 74, +2) and Daniel McCrea came in in 21st position with a +4 score of 148 (76, 72). Junior Nathan Ceille of Hales Corners, Wis., finished in a tie for 43rd place with scores of 78 and 74 (152, +8) while senior Joseph Webster of Trussville, Ala., was 91st at +16 79, 81, 160.
The Badgers next play on Oct. 28-30 at the University of Mobile Invitational at Heron Lakes Country Club.
