CLINTON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College men's cross country team ended the 2012 season with a 7th place finish at the 2012 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Men's Championships held at Choctaw Trails on Saturday morning.
The Badgers collected a total of 196 points and ran a total team time of 2:26:27.86 in an average team time of 29:17.58 over the 8,000-meter course.
Freshman Jordan Travis of Poplarville, Miss., posted a time of 27:04.66 for the 8th best 8-kilometer time in SHC history and a 12th place finish out of 89 runners.
Freshman Brennan McLean of Baton Rouge, La., placed 31st in a time of 28:36.51 and sophomore John Russell of Cullman, Ala., crossed the line in a time of 29:33.01 for 53rd place.
Freshman Phillip Travis of Poplarville was 65th at 30:35.53, freshman Conner Bueche of Baton Rouge was 66th at 30:38.15, and sophomore Ben Fleming of Metairie, La., was 68th in 30:44.64 to round out the Badger scorers.
Other SHC runners included sophomore Conner Kirkikis of Kenner, La., who was 74th in 31:35.87 and junior Fritz Boudreaux III of Pensacola, Fla., who came in at 32:03.97 for 76th position.
