Spring Hill opened SSAC league play with an 80-69 victory over Truett-McConnell on Friday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center. The win is the first of the season for the Badgers.
The game was a tale of two halves for Spring Hill. In the first half Truett-McConnell came out firing on all cylinders and quickly built a 13 point advantage just 5 minutes into the contest. The Badgers would battle back into the thick of things before halftime to enter the intermission down by only 10. Things would prove to be very different for the Badgers in the second period. This time it was Spring Hill that caught fire as the Badgers shot a torrid 57.6% from the floor and 58.3% from three point range in the second half. Also key to the Badger victory was a stronger defensive effort in the half, especially on Dorsey who was limited to just 5 second half points.

Alex Looney tossed in 14 points, Todd Martin 13 (including 4 three point bombs), and Robert Gipson and Robert Drummond 10 apiece.
