MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named basketball players Alex Looney and Jamesha Watkins as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their accomplishments on the court during the week of November 12-18, 2012.
Looney, a junior forward from Murphy High School in Mobile, scored 44 points in three games this week while also pulling down 15 rebounds. Looney has scored a team-leading 89 points for an average of 12.7 points per game thus far in the 2012-13 season with 34 rebounds, nine assists and three blocked shots.
Watkins, a junior guard from York, Ala., scored 39 points with 13 rebounds in three games this week. For the year, she is averaging 9.7 points per game and pulling in 3.2 rebounds per game with 10 assists and seven steals.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
