On Thursday, December 13, the Spring Hill College men's basketball team helped distribute Christmas presents to the children of local prison inmates through the Mobile County Prison Fellowship's Angel Tree program.
"Being able to help those less fortunate than ourselves helps us realize that we should be more grateful for everything we have," said freshman point guard Jackson Fos from Abita Springs, La. "We need to recognize what we have and not take it for granted."
Over the past several years, over 900 children in Mobile County have received gifts delivered by volunteers to their homes. Since 1982, Angel Tree has reached more than 9 million children across the nation. The program is designed to help the children of prisoners know that they are not forgotten and shares the Gospel with lonely families whose parents are behind bars.
