The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named basketball players Frederick Gatson and Kristin Rogers as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their accomplishments on the court during the week of December 10-16, 2012.
Gatson, a sophomore forward from Riverdale, Ga., hauled in 17 rebounds and scored 10 points in two games at the 2012 Spring Hill College Classic on Friday and Saturday. For the year, he is averaging 8.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 46.7% (49-105) from the field.
Rogers, a senior forward from Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., scored eight points with five rebounds versus SUNO on Saturday afternoon. So far this season, she is averaging 6.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 57.1% (36-63) from the field.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
