The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named basketball players Jackson Fos and Natalie Harper as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their accomplishments on the court during the week of December 17-23, 2012.
Fos, a freshman point guard from Abita Springs, La., was promoted to the varsity squad from the newly formed JV team earlier this season and came off the bench versus Dillard University to lead all Badger scorers with 15 points and two assists in an SHC victory. Fos is averaging 4.6 points in 10 appearances this year to go along with 22 assists and eight steals.
Harper, a freshman guard from Greensboro, N.C., responded to her first two career starts this week by draining 13 3-point shots in 24 attempts. Her seven successful long distance buckets versus Tennessee Temple came within one 3-point basket of tying the SHC single-game record. So far this year, Natalie has appeared in all 13 Badger games and is shooting 34.9% (22-63) from 3-point distance while averaging 6.8 points per contest.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
