The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics has named Ryan Stevens and Leah Washington as its USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on the court during the week of January 22-February 3, 2013.
Stevens, a sophomore catcher from Theodore, Ala., hit .214 over the Badgers' first four contests of 2013 with a double, homerun and four RBI versus the University of Rio Grande. In the field, he cut down two attempted base-stealers and was errorless in 13 fielding chances.
Washington, a freshman center from Houma, La., collected 21 rebounds and 11 points in two conference games this week. So far this season, she is averaging 4.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game along with 23 steals and 12 blocked shots.
In recognition of this honor, each week's winners of USA ROTC-Spring Hill College Student-Athletes of the Week award will receive a T-shirt, water bottle and handy gym bag compliments of the University of South Alabama ROTC.
